Hi there, I’m Qianqian!
I am a Research Assistant at the Computational Engineering & Robotics Lab (CERLAB) at Carnegie Mellon University, where I work with Professor Kenji Shimada.
I recently earned my M.S. in Mechanical Engineering – Research (MSME-R) from Carnegie Mellon University and worked at CERLAB. Before that, I completed my B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering at University College London, where I worked at the Field Robotics & Learning Lab led by Professor Yuanchang Liu.
My research focuses on advancing robotic perception and autonomy, with applications in industrial exploration and reconstruction using heterogeneous robot teams.
Research Interests
- Mapping and Localization: LiDAR–camera fusion, LiDAR–inertial odometry, semantic and object-level dense mapping
- Multi-Robot Systems: task allocation, coordination, and planning
- Field Robotics: robust autonomy for exploration, reconstruction, and industrial inspection
